This print is of a February morning, when the mist was softly hanging across the beach, alternately rising and dissolving, to conceal, then reveal, Bamburgh Castle. The wet sand reflects the bruised purples, pinks, oranges and yellows of the new dawn sky. This delicate, ethereal wash of colour is the perfect foreground to the solid bulk of Bamburgh Castle.
