During a winter visit I found pristine snow in this location which made for a fun place to photograph along the water

With the warmer winter weather the past few weeks I headed out towards the airport

Currently the trail takes you through the approach lights thus when an aircraft is landing in Juneau people will stop and watch the aircraft come right over their head which was the case with this Boeing 757

Mount Roberts Tramway Size:8"x10" 5 - 1 mile awayOne of the quickest ways to get a view of Juneau is to take the Mount Roberts Tramway. In just a few minutes the tramway takes you 1,800 feet above Downtown Juneau and the Gastineau Channel. From the top you are treated to views down the channel, across to Douglas Island as well as north towards the airport and Chilkat Mountains. You can also hike up and take the tram down for a small fee as well.
