"Gone Fishing" Puffin Grey Set of six greeting cardsEvery year, I try to arrange to go and see the puffins on Northumberland's Farne Islands. In 2025 I managed two visits, at different stages of the breeding cycle. By July the pufflings have all hatched. Every parent pair now has the task of feeding their single hungry chick. They only have about 40 days to protect and nourish the offspring before it will have to live independently out in the North Atlantic. Each parent bird takes turns to go fishing
