2017 Berry Bros. & Rudd Stauning, Cask Ref. 6493, Single Malt Whisky, Denmark (58.9%) Unit of Measure:1 X 700ML 6% Cabernet FrancLuscious Sherry and spicy rye create a whirlpool of aromas on the nose: notes of thick jam on sweet Icelandic style rye bread, new leather, cigar papers, mace and rocket leaf. This is wonderfully complex and cerebral. The palate gives chewy slabs of liquorice, fruit loaf and black pepper, before moving to a sweeter profile led by figs and rich toffee. The rye really shines through on the finish, with a perfect balance of spice and savoury rye notes.
