This wonderful Haute Couture suit is from the 1957-58 winter collection and comes from the closet of the original owner who commissioned it directly from the atelier

The top is a beautifully constructed bustier made of layers of silk and boning

a high neck with a neat little collar and a full cut through the body

On the opposite side the collar is high and has soft pleats where the fabric is set into it - the attached tie acts as a high collar and the way it drapes again works whether you wear it at the front or the back
