Abstract Topographic Mug Green Stone both for drying and firing)Inspired by the curved lines on a topographic map, I apply a flexible tape to the piece before applying glaze, once the glaze has dried the tape is removed to reveal the design. The piece is then fired up to 1250c. The pattern highlights the beautiful contrast between glaze and bare clay on the outside, while the inside is fully glazed. I freehand each design so, although similar and equally beautiful, each piece will be a unique, one of a kind
